THe FLIGHT
01
CHECK THE CALENDAR & SIGN-UP TO FLY
It's easy, click on the little gold button and sign-up to fly on the dates you would like to launch. Then a monitor will, hopefully be available and sign-up for your dates.
02
A MONTIOR WILL SIGN-UP TO ASSIST YOU
03
DAY OF FLIGHT
All flights in Yosemite are required to have an approved Monitor. The monitor will make the necessary calls to dispatch to get approval for flight. They will then do a walk through with you and your glider looking for safety issues. At the LZ they will again notify dispatch that all pilots are down and safe.
Please make sure you have connected with your Monitor before leaving for Yosemite. It is Standard procedure to arrive at launch no later than seven am. This allows time for set-up, inspections, site review, and queing for launch. Please don't be late as there is a limited launch window .
Our story begins in the 70's
Thanks to a few flying Park Rangers, we were allowed to fly in Yosemite. The Romero brothers were instrumental in allowing pilots to fly from Glacier Point - and for only one year, Sentinel Dome. They gave their time and energy to make sure pilots got the right information, had a place to stay, and launched safely. Their efforts led to our current program and permitting process to continue flying as we do today.

LANDING requires timING
Our landing area is in Leidig Meadow on the Valley floor.
Make sure you take the time to walk the LZ prior to going to Glacier Point launch. The landing area is at high altitude, so make sure you take that into consideration when you set up your landing, and be prepared to flare early.
Please be courteous to other Park visitors.

THE MOST SCENIC FLYING
We want you to enjoy your flight and experience at Yosemite.
Please help us ensure that the privilege is carried on for many years to come by following the Park Service rules and traffic laws.
Bring a friend, or better yet, plan a club trip.
You must be an advanced H4 rated pilot and a current USHPA member to fly this site.
